“REHABILITATION OF URBAN PLACE SAN FRANCISCO DE ASIS DEL CUSCO”

The proposal develops through the work of the ground, that the main actor within the place and over the new construction, be the buildings and the pedestrian, deliver a more permeable use of the square, in such a way that the flexibility of the architectural programs , reinforce the urban life of Cuzco.

A total cleaning of elements is created, whose final result, gives a clear reading from any point of view to the buildings with greater historical value, highlighting above all the bell tower of the temple, which extends throughout the place as An imposing and organizing element.

The existing level differences are evident as a way to enhance the topography of the Andean hills and highlight the monumentality of the church.

A new reading, in accordance with our times, adds to the square thus enhancing the different architectural interventions that have occurred throughout history.

Finally, the new square allows all programs to turn to public space, creating a permeable and permanent relationship between what we call the full and the empty.
